What happens during and after a Bowen session?

Your first Bowen Therapy session is designed to be gentle, supportive, and deeply relaxing. Here's what typically happens:

Initial Consultation
We’ll begin with a brief conversation about your health history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve with Bowen Therapy. This helps me tailor the session to your unique needs.

The Treatment
You’ll lie comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed in light, loose-fitting clothing. Bowen involves gentle rolling movements over specific muscles, tendons, and fascia. These small moves signal the body to relax, release tension, and begin the healing process.

Intentional Pauses
Between sets of moves, I’ll pause for a few minutes to allow your body to respond and integrate the changes. These rest periods are a key part of the therapy—they help the nervous system reset and enhance the overall effect.

After the Session
Many people feel calmer, lighter, or more balanced after just one session. Some feel changes immediately; for others, the body continues to adjust over the next few days. I’ll share simple aftercare tips to help you get the most from your session.
